Dehradun News: Chlorine Cylinder Leak Causes Breathing Issues
A case of people having difficulty in breathing due to leakage in a chlorine cylinder kept in a vacant plot in the Jhanjra area of Prem Nagar police station area of Dehradun has come to light. On receiving the information, police, NDRF, SDRF, and fire team reached the spot and are investigating. Action is being taken for safe disposal.
In Jhanjra area of Prem Nagar police station area of Dehradun, some people informed the police that they were having trouble breathing, and there were also a lot of foul smells coming. When Prem Nagar police reached the spot, they saw that chlorine gas was leaking from chlorine gas cylinders kept in a plot.
Immediately the team of fire personnel reached the spot and after informing about the incident, NDRF and SDRF teams were called to the spot. On receiving information about the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police Dehradun Ajay Singh himself reached the spot took stock of the rescue operations, and gave necessary instructions to the officers present.
The rescue teams started the relief work on the spot and rescued people from the houses located in the surrounding area and took them to safe places. Action is being taken to dispose of the gas cylinders on the spot. Investigation is being done regarding the reasons why the gas cylinders were kept in the vacant plot.
