Cloud burst in Chamoli, mountain cracks, people in fear seeing the formidable form of rivers, photos

Heavy rain accompanied by lightning and thunder rumbled in the upper reaches of Sol Valley amid heavy rains that started overnight at Tharali in Chamoli district. Due to the cloudburst in Brahmatal Suptal and Bhekal Tal area, the mountains of the mountain flowed into the Pranmati River. Due to this, the river started flowing furiously.

Big boulders and hundreds of trees started flowing like straws along the river. The roar of the river was heard more than five kilometers away. As soon as the sound started coming from the river, the villagers living in the area asked the people living on the banks of the river in Tharali, Kulsari, and Harmani to leave their homes and go to safer places.

Tehsil and the police administration team removed the people from the river bank. In Tharali, people living on the banks of the Pindar River spent the night at Gwaldam Tharali Tiraha and Nasir Bazar. Earlier on Sunday night, even more debris entered the area than the devastation caused by the Pranmati River in Tharali village and again there was inundation.

On Sunday, the motor bridge and suspension bridge connecting Tharali and Suna were washed away in the Pranamati River. On Tuesday, the villagers had constructed a temporary bridge here, but on Wednesday night, the bridge was washed away in the Pranmati river again, and again the contact of more than 5000 population of Tharali and Suna villages was completely cut off.

Tehsil and the police administration team kept alerting the people through sirens and messages throughout the night. Heavy destruction has also occurred in Ratgaon, Dhadar Bagad, and Devkuna villages due to cloudburst.

On the other hand, a part of the approach road of the Bullawala Suswa River bridge has sunk. The heavy rains late last night have once again damaged the bridge over the Bulawala Suswa River.

The movement of heavy vehicles over the bridge has been kept closed, while the movement of small vehicles is going on. Departmental officers are reaching the spot. The stream of the river is being diverted by installing a Pokeland machine so that immediate repair work is done.
