Dehradun government has banned the appointment of teachers, principals, and non-teaching staff in all aided non-government secondary schools of the state with immediate effect. To ensure that studies are not affected after the ban on regular recruitment, schools have been asked to run their work through temporary arrangements at their own expense. Education Secretary Ravinath Raman issued orders in this regard on Tuesday.

Complaint was received about irregularities in appointments
The government had received complaints of irregularities in the appointments of teaching and non-teaching staff in aided non-government secondary schools. The government has taken a tough stance on these complaints received through various mediums. Recruitment of teachers in these schools is done according to the system mentioned in the School Education Act, 2006, and School Education Regulations, 2009.
Recruitment of qualified teachers and non-teaching staff should be done transparently.
It was said in the government order that for quality education in schools, recruitment of qualified teachers and non-teaching staff should be done in a transparent manner. In view of this, the recruitment process for the posts of Principal, Lecturer, Assistant Teacher as Junior Assistant, and Senior Assistant in these schools has been postponed till further orders. The Secretary has asked to ensure strict compliance with the order.
