Annual Sports Meet at Doon International School Riverside Campus
DEHRADUN, 22 December: The Seventh Annual Sports Meet of Doon International School Riverside Campus, was held on December 22, 2022. The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Brig Puneet Sharma, BGS, IMA Dehradun, Chairman DISRC Mr. DS Mann, our Founder Principal Mrs. MK Mann, Director Junior School Campus Mrs. Gaganjyot Mann, Principal Mr. George, and Vice Principal Mrs. Anju Varma. The program commenced with the unfurling of the school flag and the rendition of the School Song, followed by the Inter House March Past. Sports Captains, Rahul Raj, and Pushpa Kunwar carried the torch, while the Head Boy, Om Jaiswal, administered the oath. The Chief Guest then addressed the students and declared the Annual Sports Meet open.
The field display was a sight to behold where the aerobic dance was presented by the Junior School. The track events included ‘Fun Races’ for the Junior School, 80 mts,100 mts, 200 mt, and 4×100 mt relay race. To show their house spirit, the teachers of all four houses also ran a 4 x 100 mt relay race. Parents, gathered in large numbers, applauded the participants. Students of Riverside Equestrian Academy’ displayed their riding skills, carrying the school flag and saluting the Chief Guest. The closing March Past was followed by the Flag Lowering Ceremony.
The Chief Guest urged students to actively participate in sports as it teaches self-discipline which is the pre-requisite for learning. He emphasized that if the mind is aligned with a purpose in life, nothing is impossible to achieve. The trophies were given to outstanding athletes in different categories. Kunwar Veer Singh and Kinjal Pragyan were declared the best athletes in the boys and girls categories in Junior school while Rahul Raj and Saniya Bhartiya were declared the best athletes in Senior school. The March Past Trophy was lifted by GANDHI HOUSE and LINCOLN HOUSE was adjudged the Overall Sports Champion.
The Sports Meet concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Vice Principal, Mrs. Anju Varma followed by the National Anthem.
