By India Today News Desk: Sahil, the man behind the murder of 16-year-old Sakshi in Shahbad Dairy area in Delhi’s Rohini, was upset over the victim’s decision to end their relationship. He was angry because the two had stopped talking to each other, which eventually led him to brutally attack and kill her, according to a preliminary probe.
Sahil allegedly stabbed the 16-year-old girl Sakshi more than 20 times on a busy street. He also hit her with a cement slab, causing her serious injuries. The incident was caught on a CCTV camera. The police are waiting for the final autopsy report.
The Delhi Police arrested Sahil in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr on Monday, after tracing a call from his aunt to his father, which helped them find him. The police checked security camera footage and talked to the victim’s family during their investigation.

“During the investigation, police checked the CCTV footage of the area and spoke to the victim’s family, who said she was going around with a boy named Sahil. We reached his place and the boy was found absconding,” the police said as quoted by news agency PTI.
The accused, Sahil, had turned off his phone after the incident and had gone to his aunt’s house in Bulandshahr by bus.
When questioned, Sahil admitted that he had been in a relationship with the victim since June 2021. The victim had been staying with a friend named Neetu for the past 15 days.

Sahil and the girl had stopped talking to each other, and they had a fight the day before she was killed. Sahil wanted to get back together with her, but she wanted to end the relationship. “She eventually stopped talking to him and wanted to end her relationship with him completely, but he kept approaching her and wanted to reunite with her,” a senior police officer said as quoted by PTI.
The police are also interested in a tattoo on the girl’s hand that has the name ‘Praveen’ on it. This name might have been a source of conflict between Sahil and the girl.
The minor was going to attend the birthday party of her friend’s son when Sahil stopped her and started stabbing her multiple times.
